There's a product known as "Black Henna" that some people are using for the temporary staining of the
skin.
Here are some things you should know about this dangerous product.

1)  "Black Henna" is natural Henna mixed with a synthetic black hair dye containing para-phenylendiamine.
Para-phenylendiaminecan (also commonly known as PPD) can cause blistering, open sores, scarring, and
lifelong health problems. Natural Henna produces a lovely reddish-brown color.
There is NO such thing as "natural black henna".

Para-phenylendiamine based black hair dye should never be put straight on your skin, plain, or mixed with
other material.   Synthetic black hair dye is illegal to put on skin, because it's not an approved use. Even
when this dye is applied to hair, people must wear gloves, and they try to not get it on the scalp.
PPD/Para-phenylendiamine can seriously injure people, as it's a strong sensitizer, transdermal toxin and
potential carcinogen.

PLEASE!!!!   Ask questions before allowing anyone to apply anything you don't understand or recognize. Ask
to see the list of ingredients. All professional face & body artists should carry a list of ingredients and the
original container.  Be an informed consumer. Protect yourself and your loved ones.   When in doubt, go
without.
